Easy way to Peel your Peaches

One trick for removing the skin from the peaches is to place 2-3 peaches into a pot of boiling water at a time. Allow them in the water for about 30 seconds, then remove them into an ice-water bath.

The ice water bath will shock them and keep the peach flesh from cooking, and the peach skin will be so easy to peel out that you won’t even need a knife to do it. The peaches are peeled to perfection.


How to make Peach Crisp

Firstly slice your peaches into about 3/4” thick slices and place the peaches in a colander, allow to rest over a bowl.

  • a dash of salt
  • 1/3 cup of cold unsalted butter (diced into small chunks)
  • 1/2 cup of light brown sugar

For the peach filling

  • a dash of cinnamon
  • a dash of salt
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 31/2 pounds of fresh peaches (peeled, cored, and sliced about 3/4in thick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract


Recipe for Peach Crisp

  1. Firstly, add the sliced peaches to a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of sugar into the bowl and toss to coat.
  3. Allow peaches to sit for about 20 minutes, to allow the sugar to pull some of the juice out of them.
  4. At this point, make the crumb topping by combining all the ingredients together.
  5. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture resembles small crumbs. Refrigerate the mixture until ready to use.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  7. Drain your peaches, reserving the peach juice, and placing the peaches in a large bowl.
  8. Measure out 1/4 cup of the peach juice and add it to a small bowl (you can drink the remaining peach juice cause it is delicious or you discard it)
  9. Stir the flour inside, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  10. Pour the mixture over the peaches and toss to combine.
  11. Pour the peaches into an 8 by 8 or similar size dish.
  12. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the top.
  13. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown in color and the top is set.
  14. Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for like 10 minutes before serving.
