How to Make Spaghetti Casserole

Preparation: Firstly, start with preheating your oven to 350 degrees. While you are doing that, cook your spaghetti according to the instructions on the pack, drain and set aside.

Sauce: In a large skillet, add your ground beef, cook breaking them into pieces until they get browned and well cooked. Drain the grease, and return your ground beef to the skillet, then add your sour cream, garlic, oregano, basil, and spaghetti sauce to your skillet and stir well to combine.

Combine: Add the cooked noodles and a cup of your mozzarella cheese to the skillet then mix well.

Bake: Lastly, pour the casserole into a 9*13 baking dish. Sprinkle parmesan cheese and the remaining mozzarella over the top then cover the casserole with a fork and bake for up to 30minutes. When it’s 30 minutes, remove your foil and bake again for about 10-15 minutes until the cheese gets browned.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes

Total time: 1 hour 5 minutes

Ingredients For Spaghetti Casserole

  • 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
  • 1  teaspoon of dried basil
  • 16 ounces of spaghetti
  • 2 pounds of ground beef
  • 26.5 oz of spaghetti sauce jars
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
  • 11/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano, dried
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic salt

Method of Preparation

Step 1: Firstly, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then cook your spaghetti according to instructions on the pack, then drain and set aside.

Step 2:  In a large skillet, add your ground beef then cook breaking it into small pieces until it turns browned and cooked well.

Step 3:  Drain the grease, then return the ground beef to the skillet. Add your spaghetti sauce, garlic salt, sour cream, basil, and oregano, and stir appropriately to combine well.

Step 4:  Add your noodles to the mix and a cup of the mozzarella cheese to the skillet, stir properly to combine well.

Step 5:  Pour the mixed casserole into a 9*13 baking dish. Sprinkle your parmesan cheese and the remaining mozzarella over the top then cover the casserole with foil then bake.

Step 6:  Bake up to 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is browned and bubbling.

Recipe note

  • Use a spiced ground sausage instead of using ground beef or you can use both of them
  • You can spice it up with hot sauce or chili flakes to make it spicier.
  • To make it more appetizing sneak in some mushrooms, bell peppers, or diced veggies.
  • For the best result shred your own block of mozzarella cheese.
